Financial assistance for coaching for forward classes

Applications have been invited by the Kerala State Welfare Corporation for Forward Communities Limited, for financial assistance to students of economically backward sections of forward castes, for undertaking coaching for selection/ admission to various courses/employment.

The three schemes notified, eligibility and the assistance under each are as follows,

Medical/Engineering Entrance Coaching scheme: For Under Graduate level, applicant should have completed SSLC securing B+ Grade or 70% marks at SSLC for each of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
Those who have competed Higher Secondary should have secured B+ grade/70% marks for each of Physics, Chemistry and the Optional subject.
Applicant should not be over 20 years of age.
Financial assistance under this scheme will be given to 605 students.

For Post Graduate studies, applicant should have completed the Degree course securing 60% marks. There is no age limit. A total of 200 scholarships will be awarded for coaching for PG Programmes.

Applicant should be undertaking the coaching in a training centre of good standard. The assistance will be in the form of reimbursement of the actual fees paid for coaching or Rs. 10000/- whichever is less.

Coaching for Bank/PSC/UPSC/Other Competitive Examinations- Applicant should be having the basic qualification to appear for the examination concerned.
The financial assistance under the scheme will be the actual reimbursement of the fee paid for coaching or Rs. 6000/- whichever is less.

Coaching for Civil Services Examination Applicant should be having the eligibility to appear for the Civil Services Examination. Age of the applicant should not be over 32 years.
The financial assistance would be Rs. 15000/- for Preliminary course, for 40 persons; Rs.25000/- for Main Examination (After passing the Preliminary) for 20 persons and Rs.30000/- for attending the Civil Services Interview for 10 persons.
The assistance would be the actual fee paid or the amount notified whichever is less.

General conditions: Applicant should belong to a community which does not have any reservation. Annual family income of the parents should be below Rs. 2 lakhs.
Those who have received the assistance earlier are not eligible to apply again. Applicant should be having a Bank Account in his/her name a nationalized/Scheduled Bank.
Applicants have to first register in the online data bank at On registration, they will receive a Register number which has to be used for applying for the assistance under scheme. Registration has to be done only once. For applying under any scheme of the Corporation, this registration number has to be sued.
